What’s in a name? I believe a name invokes and instills an expectation of the product of that which is being named. I believe a name within itself binds and ties a life’s intent. This is why we took great thought and time in declaring and specifically identifying the name of this business, Lazarus.
We are often asked if there is a special reason why we named this business Lazarus. Some even joke and say that it is because we raise people from the dead! Although this is a joke, there is some fact within the idea. Our name uniquely highlights the fact and reminds us that we as human beings each have a potential to heal. Some heal fast, some heal slow, and some have almost entirely impeded or lost the ability to heal.
This healing potential is a neurologic, biologic and physiologic function that occurs following the simplest of wounds or injuries up to the greatest of trauma, disease and illness. Cells become injured and some even die. Those cells are replaced with more vibrant, adaptable and healthy cell structures. Cells make up the component of organ structures and organ structures together create systems. But healing starts at the cell level.
From a biblical perspective, Lazarus did not raise himself from the dead. He was raised. Healing within each of us is not directed or controlled by conscious thought. It’s under the influence and control of something much deeper and more profound. This guiding principle along with decades of experience of helping people who are sick or injured, is how we help people find healing within their greatest capacity.
As a chiropractor we focus on the human body as a whole under the direct supervision and control of the nervous system. As a health coach, we focus on six principles of healing and optimum health. As a parent and child, we focus on enabling our family members to be the healthiest and the best in our community. We hope and intend to treat each and every patient as if they are family and friends. As members of our community, we focus on doing our share to ensure our fellow man and woman have a functional capacity and ability to thrive and to live a life well lived- however their purpose guides them. The more people we help the healthier the community becomes.
Lazarus Chiropractic is the only Division of Dr. Elkins that accepts insurance. At this time, we are currently only accepting Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and most Auto Insurance except Geico.
